aging is a bitch!

so i'm on the phone with my sister the other day, talking about how quickly time flies, and the fact that i'm 24 now seems bizarre (we still feel like we should be 16 or 17 years old, because surely that much time hasn't gone by already) and how we are dreading the aging process. dying is no big deal but somehow the watching yourself slowly fall away from youth sucks!
how appropriate is it that as soon as i get off the phone with her, i turn the tv on and there is a documentary on called, "youth knows no pain". this chick-who happens to be the daughter of a plastic surgeon-sets out to find and interview people who are obsessed with staying young, as well as people who are in the industry of helping people turn back the clock. it's interesting because the way she films these people you'd think she was totally against it all but she openly admits that she is also constantly preoccupied with wanting to look younger. she even says she bought her first anti-wrinkle cream at the ripe old age of 13.

anyway, i thought it was absulutely fabulous. there were some really interesting people in this movie.  i wonder what this lady would say about all this. i love her! she seems to be quite comfortable in her own skin, no matter how old and wrinkly it may be.
this is a perfect example of what i don't want to turn out like. you can wear all the youthful, stylish clothes you want but after a certain point you're just not fooling anyone. besides, there's a saddness in her face as if she knows better- or is that just the sun?
so cheers to getting old! we should be so lucky to get that far.
